Senior Water Treatment Operator

  • Type:Full Time Permanent
  • Salary/Pay Rate:$20.42 - $28.18/hr, DOE/DOQ
  • Posted Date:01/13/2017 9:35 AM

The City of Sandpoint is accepting applications for Senior Water Treatment Operator.

The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform journey level mechanical and technical work required for the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants and pump stations. The Senior Water Treatment Operator reports directly to the Water Treatment Supervisor and may provide supervision or lead work for Water Treatment Operators, trainees and seasonal workers. The Senior Water Operator is distinguished from the Water Treatment Operator in that the Senior Operator performs journey level work, supervises Operators or others, and works frequently independently and without supervision. The primary duties of this class are performed in and around a water treatment plant and related equipment which requires the employee to work near moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles or toxic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
