There are many ways to get involved with the future of Sandpoint.  A great start is to be informed about what is going on. City Council has regular meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 PM, in the Council chambers.  If you can't make it to the meeting  a live web stream is available to watch.  You can also sign up for eNotifications to have calendar and news items sent to your inbox.  Council and committee meeting minutes are also available to review.   

If you are ready to take on a more hands on approach you should volunteer and  join an advisory committee.  Advisory committees are formed to provide research, study, discussion and recommendations on specific issues or a scope of issues as requested by City Council.  They also provide an opportunity for citizens to actively participate in the decision-making process, which is a critical element for an open and responsive government.  These committees add great value to our efforts to provide efficient and effective governance.

We love to hear feedback if you have questions comments or concerns contact your City Council or Mayor.


There are many local civic organizations that would love your participation.

Bonner County has many councils and committees available to participate in as well.

Idaho@Play is a state wide initiative which brings AmeriCorps members and community volunteers together to promote play as a way to combat childhood obesity.

Second War Memorial Field replacement workshop

Sandpoint – The City of Sandpoint is hosting its second community workshop to discuss the replacement field options at War Memorial and receive public input.  The workshop will be held Thursday, May 11th, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at Sandpoint City Hall located at 1123 Lake Street in Sandpoint. 

City staff and representatives from SPVV Landscape Architects, will provide an update on the funding received to-date for the project through the Local Option Tax and construction timeline.  Field options, including natural, hybrid and artificial turf will be discussed.

Public input is requested on the field replacement and this is the second in a series of workshops before a final decision is made by City Council.  In addition to the workshops, the City will also be offering an online feedback option in May.  A video stream of the first workshop held in April is available for viewing on the City’s website at video.sandpointidaho.gov.
