The City of Sandpoint Arts Commission invites artists to submit their sculptures for consideration for the Silver Box Project – a City-wide art on loan competition.
Three sculptures will be selected by jury process for a one year loan. The selected sculptures will be displayed between October 2017 and August 2018 at a highly visible location at the head of the Sand Creek bike path before the entrance to City Beach. The artist and his/her contact information will be displayed on a custom plaque on the silver box base.
A community-wide vote will select a sculpture for the City of Sandpoint to purchase for permanent display at the end of the project timeline. Participating artists agree to sell their sculpture to the City for no more than $5,000, including taxes. The sculptures not chosen will be made available for sale to the general public with all proceeds going to the artist.
The sculptures will be promoted to City residents and artists through print and social media and highlighted in numerous community arts and culture events, including ArtWalk, Sandpoint Arts and Crafts Show and Festival.
Applications must be received through the Café website at www.callforentry.com no later than 11:59 p.m. pst on August 8, 2017. Direct link: https://www.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=4466
