Welcome to Sandpoint Idaho!  Before you get started here is a bit of Sandpoint's History

Whether new to the area or just visiting you will immediately notice mountains with ski hills, wide lush valleys, and the largest lake in Idaho Lake Pend Oreille, dominating the view. Built by railroad and timber over one hundred years ago, Sandpoint has become one of the most diverse small towns in the Pacific Northwest. Many travelers, when crossing the long bridge on U.S. 95, instantly decide to make this their new home, if only temporarily. Sandpoint is less a place and more a feeling that can only be experienced, not explained.

Since our modest beginning the recreational possibilities of Sandpoint have been unlimited, and a priority in our community.  The Sandpoint Recreation Department was established in1945 and after considerable growth combined with the City's Parks Department in 2004.  The New Parks and Recreation Department directed by Kim Woodruff, “Recreation Director for the past 19 years,” continues to make the exploration and execution of Sandpoint’s recreational possibilities a top priority.   The Parks and Recreation Department compliments the community's health and safety by enhancing quality of life.
