The Sandpoint Historic Preservation Commission
promotes the educational, cultural,
economic, and general welfare of the public of
the City of Sandpoint through identification,
evaluation, designation, and protection of those
buildings, sites, districts, areas, structures,
and objects that reflect significant elements of
the city's, the state's, and the nation's
historic, architectural, archaeological, and
cultural heritage.

Recreation Commission acts in an advisory
capacity to the director of the Parks and
Recreation Department, the Mayor, and City
Council to aid in the process of effective,
responsible, and efficient government by:
A. Marshaling and channeling the resources
available in the community to complement the
judgment of city council and staff;
B. Providing a forum for dialog and public
input;
C. Providing mechanisms appropriate to ascertain
facts and discern views;
D. Broadening citizen participation in
self-government.

Pedestrian and
Bicycle Advisory Committee Regular

The
Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee
advises the Mayor, City Council, and Planning
and Zoning Commission on pedestrian and bicycle
issues throughout and in the vicinity of the
City of Sandpoint; makes recommendations
regarding pedestrian and bicycle transportation
(and ways to encourage such transportation);
provides suggestions and information on location
of and methods to establish walkways and
bikeways; provides suggestions that will
increase the safety of all transportation
modalities; and assists with community education
regarding pedestrian and bicycle issues.
